For Texas Immersive’s Capstone Project Elysian Heights I effectively communicated the themes of Partnerism through nuanced story beats and dialogue. Through rewrites and finding compromise with the UX team, I kept the messages consistent.

Immersive Theatre was an exciting challenge for me. Unlike other forms of writing, the script has to account for what users will actually do in the space. Each audience member needs to fully embody the themes of the story in order for it to be successful. This crucial participationwas in my mind from initial character outlines to worldbuilding to finally polished dialogue.

The story is an adaptation of The Wizard of Oz and Rianne Eisler’s book The Chalice and the Blade. The values of Partnerism laid out by Eisler drove each character to be as transformative and authentic as possible.
